Wii U Guide

A Wii U Homebrew guide, from stock to CBHC.

Blocking Updates

Your Wii U will automatically download and install updates when it's plugged in. This can be a problem, what if they push an update which patches an exploit? Then you'll be stuck on an unhackable firmware. Luckily for us, there's a way to get around that.

Previous update blocking methods disabled us from updating games, making update blocking a pain. This new method allows you to use the eShop and update your games while still being in the safety of your firwmare.

Instructions

  1. Download the latest release of FTPiiU_Everywhere
  2. Download and install an FTP client of your choice
  3. Extract the contents of ftpiiu_everywhere.zip to the root of your SD card
  4. Open FTPiiU_Everywhere from the Homebrew Launcher
  5. Open your FTP client and connect to the IP address shown on your Wii U
  6. Delete the folder storage_mlc:sys/update

Updating your system should now instantly fail
